From Tallinn you can travel with Nordic Jetline into approx. 80 minutes to Helsinki. Two
katamaran highspeed ferries travel with almost 60 km/h between both capitals there and
back. We use this for a day trip, in the morning to
Helsinki and in the evening again back.
The cross is breathtaking and so expensive not at all, approx. 80 marks. Helsinki for it
already. For 40 marks we could do in twos in the bus a ride into town there and back, solve 2
tickets for an open-air museum and buy 2 ice and a coke. With this becomes also clear, why
they need no 1 cents coins. In the harbour is a small market with all possible states. As
currencies were accepted Dollar, German Mark, Finnish Mark, British Pound, Estonian Crown
and Swedish Crown. Wow. Now it is probably one currency less. It was a delightful warm day
and we did first a city stroll. Here there is an amount sauna shops. These are shops only
with sauna accessory! We have not discovered so many sights, however, excluded the cathedral,
that is really worth. Then we have gone by the bus on a small penisula with
Seurasaari Open-Air Museum.
The peculiarity is that you can walk around on this island between the old Houses without
something to pay, only if you want to look in the houses, you must pay entry and receive a
bracelet as an identification card. The museum is worth seeing certainly. In the evening then
after an ice we went
back again.
